The Children

WAYS TO TORTURE YOUR CHILDREN WHILE IN ITALY

1. See lots of ruins.
2. See lots of museums.
3. Take them on daylong winetasting jaunt in the hilltowns of Tuscany.
4. Have a country full of pizza, but no pepperoni.
5. Make them write blog entries on a family blog.

WHAT CHILDREN LIKE ABOUT ITALY

1. Gelato (of course)
2. Swimming in a pool in a Siena farmhouse.
3. The beach at Sorrento.
4. Taking a water taxi to our pensione in Venice.

I've been telling James about your trip. When he found out that pizza and gelato were from Italy, he went wild. He, of course, asked if they played baseball there, too. I said, sadly no. But he still thought it sounded like heaven:)

Hey Kids, I have an idea. Why don't you keep up the blog while your mom is away? You can tell her about your homework, how you're keeping up with your chores, attending church. . .you know, stuff like that. You could even do research papers on an Italian city and post them here. Doesn't that sound like fun? Write back. I have lots more fun educational ideas!!!!

What ! You mean that the kids nor their parents swam in the Trevi fountain ? That the kids didn't play the Xylophone with the bones from the ostuary in Rome ? That the kids didn't beg to tour the inside of Mt Vesuvius ? That the kids didn't use permanent markers to write English graffiti on the Italian artifacts ? Come on TELL THE TRUTH !

Add to the list the cheapest thrills in Venice:
1 euro to feed pigeons in St. Mark's Square, Alex was covered in them.
And 10.50 euros for a 24-hour pass on the water buses called vaporetto.
